Community Submitted Question:

What curtains should I put in my kid's bedroom?

Katherine asks, “What kind of curtains should I do? I’m open to changing the rug as well I just had it on hand (we just moved). I’m going for natural wood/light blue/light green space themed, so whatever would fit into that!”

Heather’s Solution:

Great Question! There are tons of options for window treatments. From what I’m seeing here, this looks to be a space for a small child. Safety is a huge concern when looking at kids’ spaces.
There was recently an act that was passed across the U.S. regarding window treatments and child safety. Most manufacturers comply with the new regulations, however, it’s always good to check!
In this particular space, I recommend a Roman Shade. They are available in several styles. The relaxed style or classic style would look great. This will add the softness of fabric to the space without being a hazard like curtains would be. A cordless option would be even better than a cord-controlled option. Usually, manufacturers can only go up to specific widths for cordless mechanisms, but that shouldn’t be an issue for this particular window. When working on window treatments with our clients, we usually create a custom solution for them. That being said, if you need something less custom, then there are some good options available in the marketplace. We pulled some links from our affiliate partners for you!
