Bamboo Furniture
Creating a well-balanced interior involves injecting texture and warmth. There are many different ways we can do this, with the least spoken about being pieces of furniture. Wooden or bamboo furniture is a great way of adding warmth to a space due to its natural material. Today we’re going to focus on Bamboo Furniture!
In this Shop the Look feature, I’m going to share my top tips and ideas on introducing Bamboo Furniture into our homes!
How to Recognize Bamboo Furniture
Bamboo is actually considered to be stronger than many types of wood and makes extremely durable and visually interesting furniture. Bamboo furniture is easily recognized as curved canes used to create a chair or coffee table. In other cases, bamboo has been used to create a more rattan look to cabinetry and chairs.
Bamboo furniture is typically used outdoors because of its durability and resistance to weather, however it’s not being used in many other applications! Including furniture for using indoors. This creates a coastal and almost Scandi-look to an interior depending on the piece.
Bamboo Fun Facts:
Did you know that bamboo is generally considered to be stronger than many types of wood?! That said though, bamboo isn’t actually a type of wood. Bamboo is a type of grass where its fibers are densely packed together which makes it such a strong material.
Bamboo is native to Asia, South America, and Africa where it grows extremely well in the tropical and subtropical regions. It is thought to have originated in China where it was first recorded that everyday items were made with the material.
Bamboo is still used in construction in Asia, while it’s main use worldwide is in everyday items, furniture, paper, and more!
