Seems simple, right? Let’s break it down anyway! Bathroom vanity lighting refers to the main light fixtures above a bathroom vanity unit. This may include wall sconces above or to the side of a mirror, and may even include lighting from above. This all depends on the set up of the bathroom and what requirements are needed.

Where there is a high ceiling, many people prefer to install a light fixture above the vanity mirror, or sconces on each side. In smaller spaces, sometimes pendant lights over a sink are the right answer!

Bathroom lighting can be as simple or as elaborate as you like! It’s important to ensure you can fully light the space for everyday use and bathing. Decorative lighting like above the vanity is always secondary but still necessary for shaving and other personal care needs.

Additional lighting, such as recessed LED strips and small low level lights, are fantastic for implementing for use during the night. If you or someone in your home wakes up during the night, these will be essential.
