Daybeds
In an ever-changing world we are always on the lookout for space-saving ideas, and new interior design trends. These days our homes need to serve many different needs and purposes. Therefore having space-saving items and furniture is a must! Daybeds are one of those pieces of furniture: practical and space-saving for a multi-functional room.
In this Shop the Look feature we’re going to share my top tips and ideas on using Daybeds to your advantage, so you can create more space in your home for guests and relaxation.
How to Recognize a Daybed
Daybeds are fairly easy to identify in the home. They can look like an oversized upholstered bench, or are a large twin bed with three sides (almost looking like a sofa). A daybed may also have a trundle beneath it to allow for extra people to sleep! This is particularly helpful for those that don’t need a guest bedroom all the time, but would like to accommodate guests when needed in a home office, for example.
Daybeds make a great addition to home office spaces as they allow for guests to sleep over, and also create a comfortable seating area for time out during the working day. We have used daybeds in a few projects recently, where our clients wanted to create a multi-functional space. Daybeds are perfect for this!
Daybed Fun Facts:
Daybeds are versatile pieces of furniture that are half-beds, half-sofas. They are stylish and provide a great place to nap during the day, or accommodate guests overnight.
The term “daybed” has evolved greatly over the years. Originally this applied to sofas and chaise lounges for use during the day. But nowadays daybeds refer to the frame itself, while a fully equipped one can be used in a variety of ways that we have discussed in this feature.
