How to Recognize a Romantic Dining Room

A romantic dining room is typically decorated with calming paint colors, such as sage green, soft blue, or even warm shades like taupe. While the furniture of the dining room will remain the same as any other dining space (table, chairs, etc) it’s the decor and lighting that plays a huge part in how the space looks and feels.

By layering lighting in a dining room you can create a well lit space for during the day and early evening, yet also a more intimate atmosphere come later on. For example, general ceiling lights create overall illumination, while table lamps on sideboards, and wall sconces help to create a more intimate ambience when needed. Decorating the table with place settings, candles, and stylish centerpieces helps to add to this romantic feeling too!

Dining Room Fun Facts:

Creating a romantic feeling dining room has become increasingly popular of late, as many people are choosing to entertain guests at home rather than meeting them out in bars or restaurants. This is fantastic because it means there is a more casual and intimate setting for people to catch up in.

The term “romantic” may be screaming at you as “all pink, soft pink, very feminine” but this is much more than that! A romantic space can be exactly as you wish it to be, and doesn’t necessarily have to be completed with a feminine touch. The lighting and decorative touches you choose plays heavily into whether a dining room is romantic or not, so focus should be spent there.
