How to Recognize Stylish Dishes
Stylish dishes are different to your ordinary everyday plates and bowls. They are typically decorative, colorful, and used for more special occasions than just your everyday dining. These dishes could be a combination of different styles and sizes too.
Did you know that dishes have been around since 1710? They were invented in European potteries. Before this though, the most common thing to use for food would have been bowls. These were easier to make, versatile for a number of different types of food, and could be made from an array of materials like wood, clay, and metal.
Using plates as decorative objects was hugely popular in the early 1900s when blue and white dinnerware became hugely popular. This calmed down for many years before recently making a comeback! Nowadays, many homeowners use decorative and stylish dishes to style their open shelving and cabinets.
