One way we love to use blue in our clients’ homes is through Blue Tile! And it’s taking the interior design world by storm.

Why we love blue tile!

We have loved using blue tiles in our client’s projects for many years because it’s a great way of introducing color into an otherwise sterile environment – like the bathroom or kitchen.

For those that are cautious with using color in their home – and especially as a permanent fixture like tiles – there are lots of different patterns and mosaics to enjoy, or why not try a light shade of blue instead? These are all fabulous ways of enjoying blue tiles in your home.

Blue itself is a timeless color that we have enjoyed using in our client’s projects. It’s versatile and adds visual interest into a home without making it look dated in a few years time.

How to use blue tiles

Using blue tiles at home is relatively straightforward!

Instead of using a plain or neutral colored tile in your kitchen renovation, why not choose a fun blue colored mosaic for the backsplash? Or choose a light blue colored subway tile for a more easy and classic look.

Blue tiles look beautiful in a bathroom too! Use small mosaics for creating contrast in shower alcoves or niches, while larger and bolder tiles look fantastic as the main shower wall tile.

What to watch out for with blue tiles

As with any interior design trend, there are some considerations to take into account when thinking of using blue tiles in your home…

You don’t need to use blue tiles everywhere to benefit from the classic and timeless look they provide in a space. Sometimes less is more, so it’s a good idea to plan out how you will balance the blue tiles with other neutral ones in the space.

You may also not be aware of tile dye lots. There’s a lot to unpack there so make sure to read our complete guide here.

Ways to make blue tiles last in your home

Blue tiles can last many years in your home!

It’s all about choosing tiles that you absolutely love! That are also shaped in a way that will maximize the look and feel of the space. If you’re looking at changing tiles in your home, look for blue toned ones instead of neutrals and see how they could work in your space.
