Gone are the days when fountains were associated with traditional gardens. We love fountains because they add a connection to nature – whether it’s indoors or out! There are lots of modern and contemporary options on the market now, which makes them much easier to add to our homes to benefit from the calming sounds of water.

Fountains are an easy way of creating tranquil nature sounds, both inside and outside the home. We love that there are stylish options for keeping on bookcases or desks indoors, and contemporary options for the patio and backyard areas too.

First, you’ll need to decide whether you’d like to add a fountain to your outdoor space or keep on inside. For outdoors, you can either have contemporary circular ones that look like sculptures or have a tall tiered design for the edge of your patio area.

Inside, you could have a tabletop fountain for your home office desk or bookcase, or a freestanding one!

What to watch out for with fountains

There are some considerations to take into account when considering a fountain for your home…

For those that live in rural areas, fountains can attract wildlife which you may or may not enjoy. It’s also important to choose one that isn’t too loud for you either.
