And no – they don’t have to be a disastrous decision for those with kids or pets…

Why we love white sofas!

We love white and light-colored sofas (when appropriate of course) because they provide a neutral backdrop in any living space. They are great to use as the foundation in any living area of the home to use brighter colors and patterns through decorative throw pillows.

I love how there are lots of different textures and fabric mixes to choose from nowadays. Whether it’s a 100% pure linen, cotton blend, or boucle fabric, there are lots of different upholstery fabrics to choose from which makes choosing a white sofa difficult for some (as there are so many options available) but that’s why we love them! You can really choose something suitable for anyone.

How to use white sofas 

Simply choose a white sofa in your living room or family room! Instead of selecting a shade of gray, black, or beige, select an off-white or white upholstery fabric for a clean and sleek look.

What to watch out for with white sofas

As with any interior design trend, there are some considerations to take into account when thinking of adding a white sofa into your home…

There are lots of performance fabrics available these days, making it easier to find a light colored fabric that is durable for those with kids and pets. It’s important to do your research into performance fabrics to choose something that has a high Rub Count. This refers to the fabric’s durability and will ensure a thick and good quality fabric is chosen.

It all depends on which manufacturer / furniture store you choose for your sofa, and what fabric you decide on. Always visit different stores to get a feel for quality and the fabric options available.

Always look for a performance fabric or one that is washable. Choose a sofa with removable covers so you can easily wash them to keep your sofa looking and feeling fresh.
