What kitchen stools should I buy?

Getting seating right in a kitchen can be challenging! I’m so glad you asked this question. The first thing to look at when selecting seating is what height seat you need based on the application. In this case, I recommend counter height stools. Counter height stools are usually 24”-27” high. (This is the seat height, not the overall height which can change based on the back.”

As a designer, I also look at the overhang of the countertop or table where the seating is placed. In this case, it looks like the countertop extends past the cabinets by about 12”. In this case, there is a doorway on the right side, so the narrower the stools, the less they will stock out and be in the walkway.

Seeing you asked for seating with backs, here are the options I recommend. All of these are on the narrower side for a stool with a back:

My recommendation is to go with a backless stool if possible instead, as these are usually less deep. Here are backless options that may work better:
