In this case, I recommend counter height stools. Counter height stools are usually 24”-27” high. (This is the seat height, not the overall height which can change based on the back.”

As a designer, I also look at the overhang of the countertop or table where the seating is placed. In this case, it looks like the countertop extends past the cabinets by about 12”. In this case, there is a doorway on the right side, so the narrower the stools, the less they will stock out and be in the walkway.
