Benjamin Moore Fairway Oaks – A Warm Tan Paint Color

Have you noticed the shift in interior design trends and paint colors? We are seeing a massive redirection in the industry from shades of gray, to warmer and more earthy tones. Many of our recent consultations with clients have focused on this shift and how they can bring more warmth into their homes.

As you may have read from our previous articles, color and the paints we chose for the walls in our homes, can have a huge effect on how we feel. Many of us want our guests to feel warm and welcomed into our home when they visit too, so it’s important to pay close attention to the colors chosen for interior schemes.

Today we will focus on Benjamin Moore Fairway Oaks (1075), so read on to find out how to use this paint color in your home and what to watch out for! Fairway Oaks is a warm tan color with peach undertones. Why We Love Benjamin Moore Fairway Oaks!

We love Benjamin Moore Fairway Oaks (1075) because of the amount of warmth the color brings to a space. Many homeowners may be scared to introduce such a warm color into their home with fears of looking too yellow, but it actually has a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 46, meaning it will appear to be darker and deeper in a space, rather than lighter. Consequently, Fairway Oaks will look more tan and brown in tone.

This paint color also works well in both north and south-facing rooms. Watch the warmth come alive in naturally light south-facing rooms, while the color helps to balance cool natural light in north-facing spaces. Having a versatile paint color like Fairway Oaks to hand will help to cancel out any unwanted natural light or cool areas to create a well-balanced looking and feeling at home.

How to Use Fairway Oaks at Home

Benjamin Moore Fairway Oaks can be used in a variety of ways in the home. It is a great color choice for using on walls, but it can also be used for statement cabinets or trims depending on the look you’re trying to achieve.

With the naturally warm tones of Fairway Oaks, we recommend it for houses with colder winters in particular, and is highly recommended for Northern States.

Fairway Oaks is a great choice for using on all-four-walls but make sure to pair it with a lighter, off-white or cream paint color for the trims to make the tan color come alive. For smaller rooms, you can use Fairway Oaks in a similar way if you’d prefer to create a cozy and intimate feeling space, however I would recommend keeping it to a feature wall only and pairing it with an off-white for the other walls if that’s not your intention with the final result.

Use Fairway Oaks in any room of the home, as either a feature wall or all over wall paint! This paint color brings warmth to bedrooms, home offices, dining rooms, and even living rooms!

What to Watch Out for…

Similarly to any paint color you choose in your home, there are some considerations to take into account when thinking of using Benjamin Moore Fairway Oaks (1075) in your home.

If you pair Fairway Oaks with too many other warm tones closely in a space, it will make everything look and feel too warm (yes-there’s such a thing!). Instead, it should be used with cool shades to help balance out the undertones.

Accent Color Pairings
