It reminds us of a calm ambience that you may find at your vacation hotel or resort. Therefore, this month we’re featuring Sherwin Williams Retreat (SW 6207) as our Color of the Month!
Sherwin Williams Retreat (SW 6207) is a muted green paint color that has cool gray-blue undertones making it a truly versatile paint color for using throughout the home. This uplifting shade brings a balance of elegance and sophistication to any space. It’s a beautiful color that can be used throughout the home, and can last for many years in the home when used effectively!

We love how this calming green-gray paint color pairs well with neutral colors and other sophisticated and elegant colors too. Origami White (SW 7636) works extremely well with Retreat to act as the ideal off-white paint color for contrasting trim work and ceilings. However, if you prefer to have a more bold color palette in your home, then pair Sherwin Williams Retreat with another sophisticated color like Iron Ore (SW 7069) to create a balanced and confident color palette.

Sherwin Williams Retreat is the perfect color for embracing understated luxury in the home. It can be used as a wonderful all-over wall paint with neutrals for the trim work, while it could also be used as a feature wall too! We have used Retreat as the main wall color for this fireplace makeover project (photographs featured in this article) to create a calming atmosphere in the living room.
This color works well in both light and dark rooms – watch the color come to life in sunny rooms while a more intimate feel can be achieved in naturally darker rooms. It’s a wonderful color to use in kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms to create a calming look and feel.
Alternatively, it’s really easy to incorporate Sherwin Williams Retreat in your interiors through accessories, curtains, and rugs. We love how this color is used with the “pairs well with” colors above!
