Hidden Bedroom Storage – Maximize the Space You Already Have
A client recently asked us to design their bedroom with as much storage added as possible. Storage in bedrooms is usually a premium so we had to get creative with design solutions for them!
Particularly if you live in a smaller property where space is a premium, you’ll know the struggles of not having enough storage space. Whenever we consult clients on their new construction homes we always recommend that they add as much storage as possible, and add more storage than they think they need. This will cover all eventualities.
We have added lots of hidden storage gems over the years, which has inspired us to share some bedroom storage secrets with you! Let’s explore some hidden bedroom storage ideas!
Hidden Storage in Furniture
Choosing the right type of furniture can improve the storage you have in a bedroom. For example, instead of selecting a standard bed frame, purchase one that has integrated storage drawers underneath or a lift-up mechanism so you can utilize the space below.
We love to introduce upholstered ottomans to the foot of the bed, and instead of using a standard one you can choose a storage bench to add extra storage easily. Blankets, cushions, and spare bed linens can be stored here for convenience.
Another hidden storage option is dressers with integrated shallow drawers for storing jewelry. This also helps to minimize the amount of extra boxes on top of the dresser itself.
