Sherwin Williams Snowbound (SW 7004) is a very versatile paint color that is relatively straightforward to use at home. Suitable for use on just about all surfaces, this is a very reliable paint color.

One of our favorite ways of using Snowbound at home is on the trim work. By using this crisp white paint color on the trims, you create a fresh contrast between that and the wall color. Almost every other paint color will look fantastic when paired with Snowbound, it will make the other colors really pop!

We also like using this paint color on the ceilings if brilliant or pure white is off the cards. By using Snowbound on the ceiling you add a slightly cool touch to the space which can be helpful for some rooms.

If you’re looking for a good white all-over wall paint that has a subtle gray undertone, Snowbound will be great for that too!

What to Watch Out for…

White paint colors in particular can look very different in reality than other brighter colors. This is due to the different light conditions in each room (natural and artificial) that can throw off the undertones of the paint.

With any new paint color there is always an element of risk involved, but so long as you have tested each wall in the room where you want to use the paint color (and finish) and you like the test areas, you shouldn’t have any problem.

Always make sure to paint a test area – ideally a 1 foot by 1 foot area – to make sure you’re happy with the color and undertones. Look at the test area with natural light and artificial light at different times of day to ensure you are happy with the color.
