Snowbound – A Crisp Neutral White

Selecting the perfect white (or even off-white) paint color can be quite the challenge! With all the different options available, multiple brands, and different undertones to watch out for – it’s a real minefield! But through these blog posts featuring our favorite paint colors, we hope to make the decision making that bit easier for you.

White and off-white paint colors are fantastic to have on hand because they can be used in a wide range of ways throughout the home. Therefore having a few options available to you will help to make any redecorating a breeze!

Sherwin Williams Snowbound (SW 7004) is a truly classic white paint color with a modern twist. It’s a very popular white paint color – and for good reason! It is crisp, cool, and looks brilliant on trims or walls. The slight gray undertone gives this white paint color a modern edge.

While this paint color is a crisp white, it is a neutral white color meaning that it can be used with both warm and cool tones. It is the perfect off-white paint color for a modern home that needs a white paint color without being too harsh or too cold.

Why We Love It!

We love Sherwin Williams Snowbound (SW 7004) because it’s an extremely versatile white paint color. Not only is it a crisp white color, but it is also a neutral-based color that can work well with either warm or cool tone interiors. It’s a classic and timeless paint color that we use time and time again for our clients.

We love using Snowbound for trims or ceilings!

How to Use Snowbound at Home

Sherwin Williams Snowbound (SW 7004) is a very versatile paint color that is relatively straightforward to use at home. Suitable for use on just about all surfaces, this is a very reliable paint color.

One of our favorite ways of using Snowbound at home is on the trim work. By using this crisp white paint color on the trims, you create a fresh contrast between that and the wall color. Almost every other paint color will look fantastic when paired with Snowbound, it will make the other colors really pop!

We also like using this paint color on the ceilings if brilliant or pure white is off the cards. By using Snowbound on the ceiling you add a slightly cool touch to the space which can be helpful for some rooms.

If you’re looking for a good white all-over wall paint that has a subtle gray undertone, Snowbound will be great for that too!

What to Watch Out for…

White paint colors in particular can look very different in reality than other brighter colors. This is due to the different light conditions in each room (natural and artificial) that can throw off the undertones of the paint.

With any new paint color there is always an element of risk involved, but so long as you have tested each wall in the room where you want to use the paint color (and finish) and you like the test areas, you shouldn’t have any problem.

Always make sure to paint a test area – ideally a 1 foot by 1 foot area – to make sure you’re happy with the color and undertones. Look at the test area with natural light and artificial light at different times of day to ensure you are happy with the color.

Ways to make this color last in your home…

The best way to make this paint color last in your home is to use it for the trim and ceiling throughout and as a wall paint for areas like the laundry room or pantry. The great thing about using Snowbound is that it will go with almost every other paint color! So you can create a truly timeless and beautiful space.

A classic off-white paint color will never go out of style and will last you a lifetime… Use Snowbound for your trim work throughout and you won’t regret it.
