Small Porch Décor
I myself have a front porch that’s on the smaller side, but as my kids start getting older and are more independent, I’d like to be able to sit down and enjoy watching them color with chalk or run around with the neighborhood kids. It’s time for a front porch upgrade ready for the summer months, and I wanted to share a Shop the Look for you too!
Are you ready to upgrade your small porch with some intentional décor pieces?
How to Recognize a Small Porch
Maybe that’s a silly heading.. A small porch is exactly what it sounds like! A front or back porch to your home that is on the smaller side… Perhaps you only have room for a chair or two, nothing too bulky either. As for color schemes, you can keep it simple with neutral tones (similar to your house or porch color) or go bright and bold because the area is small!
Front Porch Fun Facts:
Your front porch is likely to be a flexible space. Especially if you’re tight on space, it may even take on different looks throughout the year.
The porch is a great extension of your front yard, providing shaded cover, and I love to have a variety of different seating options available for different seasons and scenarios with the kids. Neighbors love to stop by and have a chat (or drink if you live near me…) so having stackable chairs is great to have on hand for this.
Some essentials to a small porch include planters, a doormat, a door wreath, stackable chairs for neighbors, and some outdoor wall lights.
Above all, a small porch can be made into a little retreat from the main yard and provides a quiet outdoor space for relaxing and socializing with others. For those warmer evenings, you could even feature some tea light candles to create an intimate outdoor area.
This style often includes:
- Smaller sized seating
- Stackable chairs for visitors
- Door mat and wreath
- Outdoor wall sconces
