Trend Alert: Fandeliers
There is one type of light fitting that has been doing the rounds in a Facebook Group that I manage. And they are: Fandeliers! There are lots of different styles, finishes and designs available now that there’s no wonder these are becoming more and more popular. Let’s take a closer look at Fandeliers!
Why we love it!
Fandeliers combine the elegance and style of a chandelier with the practicalities of a ceiling fan so you don’t have to compromise. Anything that can provide you with that little bit extra or is a “two-in-one” really helps in interior design! Particularly for smaller spaces, fandeliers are a lifesaver. It also means that your money stretches further because they are doing more for your room!
How to use it.
There are a number of different ways you can use fandeliers in your home as you can use them in almost any room!
If you have a particularly small room, such as a home office, bedroom or living area, a fandelier is ideal. For any homeowner that lives in a warmer state fandeliers will provide you with a ceiling fan, main light and a decorative touch, all in one.
Fandeliers can even be installed in dining areas like breakfast nooks.
Get creative with the finishes and styles on the market to make the most of adding a fandelier to your home!
What to watch for.
There are some considerations to take into account when thinking of installing a fandelier in your home.
First, fandeliers aren’t always suitable for bathrooms as they are unlikely to be damp or wet-rated so you should always check with the manufacturer.
Another consideration to keep in mind is the size of fandelier in relation to your space. You should think of a fandelier like a ceiling fan when looking into sizes and what your room can and cannot take in a fan. It’s important to install a fixture that will circulate enough air in the room but that won’t overcrowd the ceiling or look too large for the space.
Ways to make this trend last in your home
Fandeliers can last many years in your home if you choose a timeless style and a reputable manufacturer.
There are so many different styles to choose from, but don’t get discouraged because you can easily narrow the choice down by size and finish. Consider a finish that matches or complements the other finishes in your room. The overall style of the fandelier should also be in line with your overall interior design style so you choose one with a timeless design that will last you for many years, no matter how you change your decorating.
If you’re unsure of how to install a fandelier (especially from a standard ceiling light) make sure to get advice from a professional or electrician.
