We love using Patterned Bedding in our bedroom design projects because it’s a fun way of smartening up the space. With the art of Layered Bedding taking the interior design world by storm, you need to know about how to use patterned bedding at home.
In this Trend Alert we’re going to take you through some of the fun and creative ways you can use Patterned Bedding in your bedroom. Let’s get into the details of Patterned Bedding!

Why we love patterned bedding!
We have loved using patterned bedding in our clients’ projects for many years because it’s a great way of introducing multiple colors into the space. It helps us to create a bedroom that looks and feels cohesive, bringing different colors together with a pattern.
For those who are cautious about using patterns in their home – or indeed bedroom – you can layer plain blankets on top to create a layered look to the bed. There are lots of different options on the market, which means you don’t need to have a bold statement pattern! There are lots of subtle patterns available , too.

How to use patterned bedding
Using patterned bedding at home is relatively straight forward!
Instead of choosing a plain set of bed linen, why not choose a stripe or light colored floral design instead?
Remember – once you layer up a quilt on top of the sheets, a plain textured blanket and decorative pillows too, you won’t see that much of the patterned bedding! So don’t be afraid of using patterned bedding at home.
What to watch out for with patterned bedding
As with any interior design trend, there are some considerations to take into account when thinking of using patterned bedding in your bedroom…
It’s easy to fall into the trap of having too many different patterns in a space at one time, so it’s important to evaluate where you will have patterns and what size they are. Make sure you have one thing that is a large and bold pattern, so the other elements of the room can be smaller and more subtle patterns. This will create a sense of balance.
Ways to make patterned bedding last in your home
Patterned bedding can last many years in your home!
It’s all about choosing a pattern that you absolutely love! And one that works with the rest of the design elements in your bedroom. Would a neutral pattern work best in your space? Or something more elaborate? How can you use the current colors in your bedroom in the bedding choice?
Don’t forget – patterned bedding is a super fun way of being creative with a kids’ or teenager’s bedroom!
