How to Recognize Laundry Room Accessories

Laundry Room Accessories can be anything that makes a laundry room look and feel less sterile, and more like a space that is a part of the home. Depending on how you go about your laundry routine, this could include many different things! From wall mounted drying racks, to clothes rails, and storage baskets. Above all, laundry room accessories help to make doing the laundry a more streamlined process while accessorizing the space itself.

Laundry Room Fun Facts:

Laundry was originally done by slapping clothes against rocks in the river, and the detergent was made from herbs. This then developed into stomping on the clothes, and using paddles and washboards to literally beat dirt out of them.

The first washing machine was invented in 1767 by Jacob Christian Schäffer. It was very basic – a box that you would fill with clothes and manually rotate by hands.

The modern washing machine that we all know today was introduced in 1908, while the first detergent appeared in 1937.

Since then, the way we do our laundry has changed a lot! We now have entire rooms dedicated to doing the laundry – and as they evolve further, we must make them a practical and a visually nice place to be!
