Benjamin Moore October Mist (1495) is Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year for 2022! And I couldn’t be more excited about it. Green paint colors have been very popular over the last few years, and there’s no sight of this disappearing! Many of my clients have loved seeing green tones selected for their design schemes, and this beautiful sage green paint color is not only great for use throughout the home but symbolizes health as we move into the New Year.

Why We Love It!

I’ve selected a fair few sage green paint colors throughout my career in interior design, but finding one that can be used in a multitude of spaces is hard to come by. Benjamin Moore October Mist (1495) is an extremely versatile sage green which I absolutely love! 

It’s a calming paint color that can be used as a neutral paint color instead of the standard grays or creams. October Mist is also one of those colors that will work with almost any other color in the home, giving it a huge advantage.

How to Use October Mist at Home

Benjamin Moore October Mist is the perfect paint color for an allover wall paint. Pair it with cream, beige or crisp white trim work to really make the color come alive! If you’re not feeling that bold then this color will work well as a feature wall color too.

Another reason for loving this color is that it can be used in all sorts of rooms: small, large, north or south facing. You can be assured that this paint color will look fantastic in any setting.

October Mist is also a wonderful color to use for painting cabinets! Think bathroom vanity units, kitchen islands or even built-ins. You can give these cabinets a completely new lease of life by painting them with this beautiful sage green color.

With all the above suggested paint colors, they can be used as all-over paint or to create a feature wall within living spaces. Either way, always make sure the tone of colors you use compliments the rest of your home so all spaces feel cohesive with each other.

It is such a versatile neutral sage green color that it’s easy to pair this paint color with others. Sage green as a color has been used many times over the last couple of years so it is important to be completely sure on your choice for using this color in your home. If you absolutely love it then go for it! But following a design trend like this may lead to you disliking it in a shorter period of time, compared to choosing something out of love.
